Dutch pioneers using Loopcam for VJing
One day we got to know of Dutch VJ crew that was about to perform at the huge party Schurkenbiefstuk (that’s dutch for ‘thievery meat’ by the way). And their visuals were all about fan made gif-loops!
Hey! Tell me about your team!
I’m Richard Pijs founder of FoURPAcK ontwerpers. We are a team of graphic designers in the Netherlands. Besides our regular clients, I want to create room for fun projects. Such as FoURPAcK tv.
What is your relation to live visuals?
My whole life I have been interested by film and moving images. I also love typography. 10 years ago, in my academy years, I saw that these could be combined. I found this so fascinating, so I decided to create projects in which I can experiment with this medium.
How come you ended up doing this gif-animation experiment?
At the beginning of the internet I found it fantastic that you have a picture in a sequence could place and could save as a .gif file. I find this very amazing at the time. 10 years later you guys come with the Loopcam app, which let everyone easily create a small gif sequence by him/herself. I thought: this is my chance to involve people with FoURPAcK tv.
And how was that party like?
The party was really cool. FoURPAcK tv was placed above the DJ booth so everyone had a constant view of the 60-minute animated show, which was looped throughout the evening.
Cool, great job!
